Graphic Design Mistake #3 – Not knowing the colors of your business

News & Blog

Why it’s bad: Colors are also part of your visual branding. You need to be consistent with your color usage. Use a couple of main colors. You may also have a few other secondary colors. Like your font, these are part of the personality of your business and must be used consistently to create an enduring brand.

How to fix it: You need to know the number of your Pantone (PMS) color, CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) and RGB (Red, Green, Blue) colors. Pantone knowledge is good for Screen Printers and Embroiders to closely match your color. CMYK is a must for any print job. RBG or Hexadecimal is for web sites. An experienced graphic designer can help decipher all these codes.
